Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29412

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Abd al-Malik bin Ibrahim al-Jdi narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash and Mansour, they heard Abu Al-Duha, He narrates on the authority of Masruq. He said, “A man came to Abdullah and said, ‘A storyteller is telling stories. He says that smoke comes out of the ground, so he takes it. In the hearing of the disbelievers, and the believer takes the form of a cold. He said, so he became angry, and was reclining, then he sat down. Then he said, “When one of you is asked about what he knows, Let him say it, Mansour said, let him tell it, and when he is asked about what he does not know, let him say God knows best, for it is from a man’s knowledge if he is asked about what he does not know. He knows that he says, “God knows best,” for God Almighty said to his Prophet: (Say: “I do not ask you for it of any reward, and I am not of those who charge.”) When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw that the Quraysh rebelled against him, he said, “O God, help them with seven things like the seventh of Joseph.” “So she took them for a year and counted everything until they ate the skins and the dead bodies, and one of them said, ‘Bones.’ He said, and he started to come out of the ground. Like the appearance of smoke. He said, “So Abu Sufyan came to him and said, ‘Your people have perished, so pray to God for them.’ He said, ‘This is because of His saying: (The day you come The sky is filled with clear smoke. * The people will be enveloped. This is a painful torment.) Mansour said this because he said (Our Lord, remove from us the torment. Believers.) Will the torment of the Hereafter be removed? He said, “The oppression and the darkness passed away.” And one of them said, “The moon,” and the other said, “The Romans.” Abu Issa said. And Al-Lazam means the Day of Badr. He said, and this is a good and authentic hadith.
