Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29511

Suwayd bin Nasr told us, Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, Sa’id bin Abi Ayyub told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Sulayman, on the authority of Sa’id Al-Maqbari, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited this verse: (On that day, its news will be narrated. He said, “Do you know what its news is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “For its news is that it bears witness against every servant.” Or a nation, because of what was done on its back, says, “On such and such a day, he did such and such,” and this is its news. Abu Issa said, “This is a good hadith.” True.
