Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29523
Hadith #29523
Abd bin Humaid told us, Ubaid Allah bin Musa told us, on the authority of Abu Ja`far al-Razi, on the authority of al-Rabi`, on the authority of Abu al-Aaliyah, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, mentioned Their gods, so they said, “Attribute your Lord to us.” He said, “Then Gabriel brought him this surah: (Say: He is God, One.)” So he mentioned Similar to that, and it did not mention the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka’b, and this is more authentic than the hadith of Abu Sa’d and Abu Sa’d, whose name is Muhammad ibn Maysar, and Abu Ja’far. Al-Razi's name is Isa, and Abu Al-Aaliyah's name is Rafi', and he was a slave who was freed by a Sabian woman.
