حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَدْعُو بِدُعَاءٍ إِلاَّ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَا سَأَلَ أَوْ كَفَّ عَنْهُ مِنَ السُّوءِ مِثْلَهُ مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ‏.‏
Qutaibah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to us, on the authority of Abu al-Zubayr, on the authority of Jabir, who said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “No one calls With a supplication unless God gives him what he asked for or withholds from him evil similar to it, unless he supplicates for sin or for severing ties of kinship.” And in the chapter on Abu Saeed and Ubadah bin Al-Samit.
