Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29696

Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Mughirah bin Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, on the authority of Abu al-Zinad, on the authority of al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “By God, I am happier with the repentance of one of you than with one of you over his straying when he finds it.” He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Ibn Masoud. Al-Numan bin Bashir and Anas said, “This is a hasan, authentic, and strange hadith in this regard from the hadith of Abu Al-Zinad. This was narrated.” The hadith is on the authority of Makhul, with a chain of transmission on the authority of Abu Dharr, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, similar to this.
