Hadith #29721
Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman told us, Yahya bin Hassan told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Ishaq, on the authority of Sayyar, on the authority of Abu Wael, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, that a letter came to him and said, “I have been unable to write, so I mean.” He said, “Shall I not teach you?” Words that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, taught me: If there were on you like a mountain, it would become a debt that God paid on your behalf. He would say, “Say, O God, protect me from Your haraam things, and I am richer in your grace than anyone else.” Abu Issa said, “This is a good and strange hadith.”
