Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29771

Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Abu Amir Al-Aqdi narrated to us, Zuhayr bin Muhammad narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, on the authority of Al-Tufayl bin Ubayy ibn Ka’b, on the authority of his father, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “My example among the prophets is like a man who built a house.” So he improved it, completed it, and beautified it, and left a place for a brick of it, so the people went around the building, marveling at it, and saying, “If only it had been completed.” “The place of that brick, and I am among the prophets, is the place of that brick.” And with this chain of narration on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said, “If On the Day of Resurrection, I was the imam of the prophets, their orator, and the companion of their intercession without any pride.” Abu Issa said, “This is a good and authentic hadith.” Strange...
