حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ، قَالَ لَمَّا عَزَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ عُمَيْرَ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حِمْصَ، وَلَّى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ عَزَلَ عُمَيْرًا وَوَلَّى مُعَاوِيَةَ . فَقَالَ عُمَيْرٌ لاَ تَذْكُرُوا مُعَاوِيَةَ إِلاَّ بِخَيْرٍ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ بِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ , وَعَمْرُو بْنُ وَاقِدٍ يُضَعَّفُ .
Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to us, he said, Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Nufaili narrated to us, he said, Amr bin Waqid narrated to us, on the authority of Yunus bin Halbas, on the authority of Abu Idris Al-Khawlani, he said when Omar bin Al-Khattab removed Umair bin Saeed from Homs, and appointed Muawiyah as governor, the people said he removed Umair appointed Muawiyah as his guardian. Umair said, “Do not mention Muawiyah except with goodness, for I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “O God, guide him.” Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith, and Amr bin Waqid is considered weak.
