Hadith #38094
وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ وَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ خِلَافَهَا فَجِئْتُ بِهِ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُه فَعَرَفْتُ فِىْ وَجْهِهِ الْكَرَاهِيَّةَ فَقَالَ: «كِلَاكُمَا مُحْسِنٌ فَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوْا فَإِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ اِخْتَلَفُوْا فَهَلَكُوْا». رَوَاهُ البُخَارِىُّ
On the authority of Ibn Masoud, he said: I heard a man reciting, and I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, reciting something other than that, so I brought him to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I told him, and I learned about it. His face showed hatred and he said: “Both of you are good people, so do not disagree, for those who were before you disagreed and perished.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari
