«كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في جنازة. ولما عرضت عليه رحلة رفض ركوبها. ثم في طريق العودة، عندما عرضت عليه رحلة، ركبها. فلما سئل عن ذلك قال: إن الملائكة كانوا يمشون، فما أردت أن يمشوا وأنا أركب، فلما رجعوا ركبت. (أبو داود 3179، الحكيم 1/355، البيهقي 4/23)
'Once the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was accompanying a funeral. When a ride was presented to him, he refused to ride it. Then on the way back, when a ride was presented to him, he rode it. When he was asked about this, he Said, "The angels were walking. So I did not want them to walk and I to ride. Then when they turned back, I rode." (Abu Dawood 3179, Hakeem 1/355, Baihaqi 4/23)
