قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا جلس مجلسا أو يصلي يقرأ كلاما. فلما سألته يوما عن تلك الكلمات، قال (عليه السلام): (في المجلس) إذا حدث نقاش خير كان له ختما إلى يوم القيامة. وإذا كان فيه نقاش غير مفيد كان كفارة له. الآية هي: “سبحانك الهم وبحمدك، لا إله إلا أنت، استغفرك وأتوب إليك” (النسائي)[1]
He said, When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to sit in a meeting or offer prayers, he used to recite some kalams (sentences). One day when I asked him about those words, he (peace be upon him) said: (In the Majlis) if there is a benevolent discussion, it will be regarded as a 'seal' for him until the Day of Resurrection. And if there is an unwholesome discussion (in the Majlis), it will count as expiation for him. The verse is, “Subha-naka all-humma wa bihamdika, la- ila-ha illa- Anta, astaghfiruqa wa atubu ilaika'' (meaning - O Allah! I describe Your holiness with Your praise. Verily there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent.). (Nasa'i)[1]
