Hadith #40202
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The wind never blew without the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, kneeling down on his knees and saying: “O God, make it a mercy and do not make it a torment.” Oh God, make it a wind and do not make it a wind.” Ibn Abbas said in the Book of God Almighty: “Indeed, We sent upon them a roaring wind” [Al-Qamar 54:19], and “And We sent upon them the destructive wind” [Al-Dhariyat 51: 41] “And We sent the fertilizing winds” [Al-Hijr 15: 22] and “That He sends the winds bringing good news” [Al-Rum 30: 46]. Narrated by Al-Shafi’i and Al-Bayhaqi in “Al-Dawa’at Al-Kabir”
