Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46611

On the authority of Al-Numan bin Bashir, may God be pleased with them both, that a father of his was brought to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said: “I have impaled this son of mine, a boy who was mine.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Did your son eat his bee like this?” He said: “No.” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Send him back.” And in a narration: So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Did you do this to all of your children?” He said: “No.” He said: “Fear God and be fair among your children.” So my father returned and returned that charity. In a narration: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “O Bashir, do you have a son other than this?” He said: Yes. He said: “He ate them and did you give him something like this?” He said: No. He said: “Then do not bear witness to me, for I do not bear witness against me.” “Unfair” and in one narration “Do not bear witness to my injustice” and in another narration: “Someone else bears witness to this” and then He said: “Would you be happy for them to be equal to you in righteousness?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “No then” (Agreed upon).
