حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا لاَ نَقْدِرُ عَلَيْكَ فِي مَجْلِسِكَ، فَوَاعِدْنَا يَوْمًا نَأْتِكَ فِيهِ، فَقَالَ: مَوْعِدُكُنَّ بَيْتُ فُلاَنٍ، فَجَاءَهُنَّ لِذَلِكَ الْوَعْدِ، وَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَهُنَّ: مَا مِنْكُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ يَمُوتُ لَهَا ثَلاَثٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ، فَتَحْتَسِبَهُمْ، إِلاَّ دَخَلَتِ الْجَنَّةَ، فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ: أَوِ اثْنَانِ؟ قَالَ: أَوَِ اثْنَانِ كَانَ سُهَيْلٌ يَتَشَدَّدُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَيَحْفَظُ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ يَقْدِرُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ عِنْدَهُ.
Ali narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, he said: Suhail bin Abi Saleh narrated to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah: A woman came to The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and she said: O Messenger of God, we cannot help you in your gathering, so promise us a day on which we will come to you. He said: Your appointment will be in the house of so-and-so, so he came to them with that promise, and what he told them was: There is not a woman among you whose three children will die. So you expect them to be among them, unless you enter Paradise. A woman said: Or two? He said: Or two. Suhail was strict in his hadith and memorized it. And no one was able to write to him.
