حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ اسْمَ جُوَيْرِيَةَ كَانَ بَرَّةَ، فَسَمَّاهَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم جُوَيْرِيَةَ.
Qabisah narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman, the client of the family of Talha, on the authority of Kurayb, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the name Juwayriyah was a desert woman, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, named her Juwayriyah.
