Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47450

Abdullah bin Saleh told us, he said: Al-Layth told me, he said: Abu Al-Zubayr told me, on the authority of Jabir, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, complained, so we prayed. Behind him while he was sitting, and Abu Bakr was making people hear his takbeer, so he turned to us and saw us standing, so he pointed to us and we sat. So we prayed his prayer, sitting, and when he said the salaam, he said: If you strive to do the action of the Persians and the Romans, who rise up against their kings while they are sitting, then do not Do so, follow your imams. If he prays standing, then pray standing, and if he prays sitting, then pray sitting.
