On the authority of Abu Qatada, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went out one night and saw Abu Bakr praying. He lowered his voice and passed by. While Omar was praying, raising his voice, he said: When they met with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “O Abu Bakr, I passed by you.” While you are praying, lower your voice. He said: I heard someone you spoke to, O Messenger of God, and he said to Omar: “I passed by you while you were praying, raising your voice.” He said: O Messenger of God, awaken the tongue and expel the devil. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “O Abu Bakr, raise your voice.” “Something.” And he said to Omar: “Lower your voice a little.” It was narrated by Abu Dawud, and Al-Tirmidhi narrated it similarly.
