Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #51139

On the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf, he said: I was standing in line on the day of Badr, and I looked to my right and to my left, and I saw two boys from the Ansar. Its teeth were fresh, so I wished to be between their ribs, so one of them winked at me and said: Uncle, do you know Abu Jahl? I said: Yes, what is your need? To him, my nephew? He said: I was told that he curses the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if I saw him my blackness would not leave his blackness until he died. He is the quickest of us, so I was amazed at that. He said: The other winked at me and told me the same thing, but I did not blush when I looked at My father, Jahl, goes around among the people, so I said: Don’t you see? This is your companion about whom you are asking me. He said: So they attacked him with their sword and struck him until they killed him. Then they went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they told him, and he said: “Which of you killed him?” So each one of them said: I killed him. He said: “Did Did you wipe your swords? They said: No. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, looked at the two swords and said: “Both of you killed him.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ruled that he should be plundered for Muadh bin Amr bin Al-Jamuh and the two men: Muadh bin Amr bin Al-Jamuh and Muadh bin Afra.
