On the authority of Anas, he said: A Sunnah befell the people during the time of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. While the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was delivering a sermon on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, Messenger of God, the money has perished and the children are hungry, so pray to God for us. He raised His hands, and we did not see a tear in the sky. By the One in whose hand is my soul, he did not place it until the clouds raised like mountains. Then he did not come down from his pulpit until I saw the rain falling on his beard, may God bless him and grant him peace. So it rained for us that day, and from the next day, and the day after, and the day after that, until the next Friday, and that Bedouin rose, or someone else said. He said, “O Messenger of God, the building was destroyed and the money was drowned, so pray to God for us.” He raised his hands and said, “O God, protect us or against us,” so he pointed to a direction with his hand. From the clouds, they parted, and the city became like a deep hole, and the valley flowed in a canal for a month, and no one came from it. On one side, he narrated with generosity, and in a narration he said: “O God, be around us and not against us, O God, be upon the hills and the mountains and the bottoms of the valleys and the springs.” “The trees.” He said: So it took off and we went out walking in the sun.
