Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #53660

Muhammad ibn Kathir informed us, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, who said: I entered The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw Umm Sulaym and with him was Umm Salamah. She said: A woman sees in her dreams what a man sees? Then Umm Salamah said: May your hands be blessed, O Umm Sulaim. You have disgraced the women, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “In support of Umm Sulaim, but you have raised Your hands, the best of you is the one who asks what it means. When she sees water, she should wash herself.” Umm Salamah said: And for the women. Water? He said: “Yes, so how can the children resemble them? They are the half-sisters of men.”
