Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54409

Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Al-Awza’i told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abu Salamah bin Abdul Rahman, he said: He told me Abu Hurairah, he said: While Omar bin Al-Khattab was delivering a sermon, a man entered and presented Omar with him, and he said: O Commander of the Faithful, I have not added anything more. I performed ablution when I heard the call. He said: And ablution as well? Did you not hear the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: “If one of you comes on Friday, let him wash himself.”
