Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54460

Othman bin Omar narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, on the authority of Burayd bin Abi Maryam, on the authority of Abu Al-Hawra Al-Saadi, he said: I said to Al-Hasan bin Ali: What Do you remember the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace? He said: “He carried me on his shoulder, so I took one of the dates of charity and put it in.” In my mouth, he said to me: “Throw it. Did you not feel that it is not permissible for us to give charity?”
