أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ دُحَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا لُبَابَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ لَمَّا رَضِيَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ أَهْجُرَ دَارَ قَوْمِي، وَأُسَاكِنَكَ، وَأَنْخَلِعَ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ.
فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" يُجْزِي عَنْكَ الثُّلُثُ "
Abd al-Rahman bin Ibrahim al-Dimashqi Duhaim informed us, Sa`id bin Maslamah told us, on the authority of Ismail bin Umayyah, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Lubabah, that Abu Lubabah told him that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was pleased with him, he said: O Messenger of God, part of my repentance is that I leave my people’s home and live with you, and give up some of my wealth as charity for God and His Messenger. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “A third will be sufficient for you.”
