أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَلِيٍّ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، هَلْ عَلِمْتَ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْوَحْيِ إِلَّا مَا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى؟.
قَالَ : " لَا وَالَّذِي فَلَقَ الْحَبَّةَ وَبَرَأَ النَّسَمَةَ،مَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا فَهْمًا يُعْطِيهِ اللَّهُ الرَّجُلَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ، وَمَا فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ ".
قُلْتُ : وَمَا فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ؟.
قَالَ : " الْعَقْلُ، وَفِكَاكُ الْأَسِيرِ، وَلَا يُقْتَلُ مُسْلِمٌ بِمُشْرِكٍ "
Ishaq told us, Jarir told us, on the authority of Mutarrif, on the authority of Ash-Sha’bi, on the authority of Abu Juhayfa, he said: I said to Ali: O Commander of the Faithful, did you know? Any revelation except what is in the Book of God Almighty? He said: “No, by Him who split the grain and caused the breath, I do not know anything but understanding that He will give.” God is the man in the Qur’an and what is in the document. I said: What is in the document? He said: Reason, and the redemption of the prisoner, and a Muslim should not be killed by a polytheist.
