أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَيْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ، فَقَالَ : " شِبْرًا "، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِذَنْ تَبْدُوَ أَقْدَامُهُنَّ؟، قَالَ :" فَذِرَاعًا لَا يَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ ".
قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ : عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ
Ahmad bin Khalid told us, Muhammad told us: Ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Safiyya bint Abi Ubaid, on the authority of Umm Salamah, the husband of The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. She said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was asked about a woman’s tail, and he said: “A hand span.” So I said: O Messenger. God, then do their feet appear? He said: “So an cubit, not more than that.” Abdullah said: People say: On the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Suleiman bin Yasar.
