Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55510

Yazid bin Harun told us, Azhar bin Sinan told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Wasi’, he said: I came to Mecca and met my brother Salim bin Abdullah told me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather: That the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever enters the market and says: There is no god but God Alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Ever-Living and does not die. In His hand is goodness, and He is capable of all things, God wrote. He has a thousand thousand good deeds, and He erased from him a thousand evil deeds, and He raised for him a thousand thousand degrees.” He said: So I approached Khurasan and met Qutaibah ibn Muslim, so I said: I brought you a gift, so I told him, and he was riding in his convoy, and he would come to the market, and he would get up, say it, and then come back.
