Hadith #55727
Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated to us, Wahib narrated to us, Hisham bin Urwa narrated to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Marwan bin Al-Hakam: that Omar bin Al-Khattab, when he was stabbed, consulted them about the matter, and said: “I had an opinion regarding the matter, so if you decide to follow it, then follow it.” So he said to him: Othman: If we follow your opinion, then it is guidance, and if we follow the opinion of the Sheikh, then what a good opinion he was.
