Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55974

Muhammad bin Imran told us, on the authority of Muawiyah bin Maysarah bin Shurayh, on the authority of Shurayh bin Al-Harith, who said: “It was divided into two pieces, And two parents, and a husband, and he decided on them, and the husband came to complain about him in the mosque, so he sent Abdullah bin Rabah to him, and he took him, and sent to Shuraih, and he said: What does this say? He said: This man seems to me to be an unjust person, but I think he is an immoral man, who expresses his complaint and conceals an ongoing judgement. So the man said to him: What do you say about Two daughters, two parents, and a husband? He said: The husband gets a quarter of all the money, and the parents get a sixth, and what not? What remained was for the two daughters. He said: Why did you neglect me? He said: It is not that I deprived you, God deprived you, of two-thirds for the two daughters, one-sixth for the parents, and one-fourth for the husband, so it is part of the seven and a half obligatory prayers. “Your statute is family.”
