Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, Abu Dawud told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, he said, I heard Abu Amr Al-Shaybani, talking about Abu Masoud Al-Badri, that a man came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, asking him to bear him, and he said, “He has done something wonderful to me.” Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: He said, “Come to so-and-so.” He came to him and carried him, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Whoever guides someone to something good will have a reward similar to that of its doer, or say its doer.” Abu Issa said, “This is a hasan and authentic hadith. Abu Amr al-Shaybani’s name is Saad bin Iyas and Abu Masoud al-Badri’s name is Uqba bin Amr. Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khalal narrated to us, Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Abu Amr Al-Shaybani, on the authority of Abu Masoud, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said something similar, and he said, “It is like the reward of its doer.” And he did not doubt it.
