Ahmad ibn Mani’ told us, Ismail ibn Ulayya told us, Ayoub told us, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace He broke his fast at Arafat, and Umm al-Fadl sent him some milk and he drank. And on the authority of Abu Hurairah, Ibn Umar, and Umm al-Fadl, he said. Abu Issa, the hadith of Ibn Abbas is a good and authentic hadith. It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar, who said: I performed Hajj with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, but he did not fast it, meaning the day Arafat, with Abu Bakr, but he did not fast, with Omar, but he did not fast, and with Othman, but he did not fast. This is acted upon by most of the people of Scholars recommend breaking the fast at Arafat so that a man will be strengthened in supplication, and some scholars have fasted on the day of Arafat at Arafat.
