Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Hushaym told us, Mansour, meaning Ibn Zazan, told us, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin al-Qasim, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha said, “I perfumed the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, before he entered Ihram and on the Day of Sacrifice, before he circumambulated the Kaaba with perfume that contained musk. And in Chapter on the authority of Ibn Abbas. Abu Issa said that the hadith of Aisha is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to most of the scholars from The Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others are of the opinion that if a person in ihram stones Jamarat al-Aqaba on the Day of Sacrifice and slaughters and either shave or cuts his hair, then it is permissible Everything is forbidden to him except women. This is the view of Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. It was narrated on the authority of Omar ibn Al-Khattab that he said it is permissible He has everything except women and perfume. Some people of knowledge, including the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others, have held this view. This is the saying of the people of Kufa.
