Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27109

Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and shroud him in his clothes, and do not cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection, wearing Ihram or reciting the Talbiyah.” Abu said. Jesus, this is a good and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to some people of knowledge, and it is the saying of Sufyan Al-Thawri, Al-Shafi’i, and Ahmad. And Ishaq. Some of the people of knowledge said: If a person in ihram dies, his ihram is interrupted and the same should be done to him as would be done to a non-muhrim.
