Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27531

Muhammad bin Bashar told us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi told us, al-Dahhak bin Uthman told us, Salem Abu al-Nadr told me, on the authority of Busr bin Saeed, on the authority of Zayd bin Khaled Al-Juhani, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was asked about the shot and he said, “Recognize it for a year. Then pay it back. Otherwise, find out its container, its cups, its agents, and its number, then all of it. When its owner comes, pay it back.” Abu Issa said. The hadith of Zayd bin Khalid is a good and authentic hadith, but strange in this respect. Ahmad said: The most authentic thing in this regard is this hadith.
