Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27118

Qutaibah told us, Jarir told us, on the authority of Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, on the authority of Tawus, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “Circumambulation around the Kaaba It is like prayer, except that you speak about it, so whoever speaks about it should not speak anything but good.” Abu Issa said: This hadith was narrated on the authority of Ibn Tawus and others, on the authority of Tawus, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, in a chain of narrators. We do not know of it as a chain of transmission except from the hadith of Ata’ ibn Al-Sa’ib. This is the practice according to most people of knowledge.
