Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27357

Abu Ammar Al-Hussein bin Harith informed us, Al-Fadl bin Musa informed us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of Al-Hakam bin Aban, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that a man came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who had had intercourse with his wife. He fell on her and said, “O Messenger of God, I have had intercourse with my wife.” So I fell upon her before I made amends. He said, “What made you do that, may God have mercy on you.” He said, “I saw her anklets in the moonlight.” He said, “Do not approach it until you have done what God has commanded you to do.” Abu Issa said: This is a good, strange, and authentic hadith.
