Hadith #27473
Ali bin Hajar told us, Ismail bin Ja’far told us, on the authority of Al-Ala’ bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He passed by a piece of food, put his hand into it, and his fingers got wet. He said, “O owner of the food, what is this?” He said, “The sky struck him, O Messenger of God.” He said, “Why did you not place it on top of the food so that the people could see it?” Then he said, “Whoever deceives is not one of us.” He said: And on the authority of Ibn Umar, Abu al-Hamra, Ibn Abbas, Buraidah, Abu Burdah ibn Nayyar, and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Abu Hurairah is a good and authentic hadith. Acting on this is according to the people of knowledge. They dislike deception and say that deception is forbidden. .
