Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26722

Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Abi al-Shawareb narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zurayi narrated to us, Muammar narrated to us, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Salim, on the authority of his father, The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, performed the prayer of fear, with one group performing a rak’ah and the other group facing the enemy, then They left and stood in the place of those people, and those people came and he prayed another rak'ah with them, then he greeted them. Then these people stood up and performed their rak'ah, and he stood up. These people performed their rak’ah. Abu Issa said: This is an authentic hadith. Musa bin Uqba narrated a similar example on the authority of Nafi’ on the authority of Ibn Umar. This... He said, and on the authority of Jabir, Hudhayfah, Zayd bin Thabit, Ibn Abbas, Abu Hurairah, Ibn Masoud, Sahl bin Abi Hathamah, and Abu Ayyash al-Zarqi, whose name is Zayd ibn Samit, and Abu Bakra. Abu Issa said, Malik ibn Anas referred to the Sahl hadith regarding the prayer of fear. Build Abu Hathamah, and this is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i. Ahmed said: The fear prayer was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in various ways, and I do not know about this matter. Except for an authentic hadith, and I choose the hadith of Sahl bin Abi Hathamah. And thus Ishaq bin Ibrahim said, he said: The narrations are proven on the authority of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the prayer of fear. He saw that everything that was narrated from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the prayer of fear, is permissible, and this is according to the degree of fear. Ishaq said: We do not choose the hadith of Sahl bin Abi Hathamah over other narrations.
