Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27532

Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khalal narrated to us, Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, and Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan Al-Thawri, on the authority of Salama bin Kuhail, on the authority of Suwayd bin Ghafla, he said: I went out with Zaid bin Suhan and Salman bin Rabi’ah, and I found a whip. Ibn Numayr said in his hadith: So I picked up a whip and took it. They said, “Leave it.” So I said, “I will not let it be eaten by wild beasts. I will take it and enjoy it.” So I came to my father. Ibn Ka'b, so I asked him about that and told him the hadith, and he said, “Well done. I found during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a bundle containing a hundred A dinar. He said, so I brought it to him, and he said to me, “Know it for a year.” So I knew it for a year, but I could not find anyone who knew it. Then I brought it to him. He said, “Inform her another year.” So I recognized her, then I brought her to him. He said, “Inform her another year.” And he said, “Count.” Her equipment and her bowl And its representative. If the person seeking it comes and informs you of its equipment, its container, and its agent, then give it to him. Otherwise, enjoy it.” He said this is a good and authentic hadith.
