Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27530

Qutaibah narrated to us, Ismail bin Ja’far narrated to us, on the authority of Rabi’ah bin Abi Abd al-Rahman, on the authority of Yazid, the freed slave of Zayd bin Khaled Al-Juhani said that a man asked the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, about the shoot, and he said, “Know it for a year, then find out its measure and its container.” Then spend with it, and if its owner comes, give it back to him.” Then he said to him, “O Messenger of God, the waste of the sheep.” So he said, “Take it.” It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf.” Then he said, “O Messenger of God, the waste of camels.” Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, became angry until they turned red. His cheeks or his face turned red and he said, “What is the matter with you when she has her shoes and her waterskin with her until she meets her Lord?” Hadith of Zayd bin Khalid. It is a hasan and authentic hadith, and it has been narrated from him through more than one authority. And the hadith of Yazid’s freed slave, emanating from Zayd bin Khalid, is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated from him In other words, he said, and on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka’b, Abdullah bin Amr, Al-Jaroud bin Al-Mu’alla, Iyad bin Himar, and Jarir bin Abdullah. This is acted upon according to some people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others, and they permitted the taking if He knew it for a year, but he did not find anyone who knew it to benefit from it. This is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Some of the people of Knowledge from the Companions of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and others, defines it as a sunnah. If its owner comes, otherwise he gives it in charity. This is the saying of Sufyan al-Thawri. And Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak, and this is what the people of Kufa say, they did not think that the owner of the piece of land could benefit from it if he was rich. And he said. Al-Shafi’i can benefit from it, even if he is rich, because Ubayy bin Ka’b acquired during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a purse containing one hundred dinars, so he ordered him to do so. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to make it known and then benefit from it. He had a lot of money from the proceeds of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded him to do so. To introduce it, but he did not find anyone who knew it, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered him to eat it. The shot was only permissible for those for whom it was permissible to give charity. It was not permissible for Ali bin Abi Talib because Ali bin Abi Talib acquired a dinar during the reign of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He greeted him and recognized it, but he did not find anyone who recognized it, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered him to eat it, but it was not permissible for him to give charity. Some people of knowledge have granted permission, if the shot is small, to benefit from it and not identify it. Some of them said, if it is for less than a dinar He defines it as the value of a Friday. This is the opinion of Ishaq ibn Ibrahim.
