Muhammad bin Bashar told us, Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Salamah bin Kuhail, on the authority of Issa bin Asim, on the authority of Zar, On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The deity is from polytheism.” And there is no one among us but God. He removes it with trust. Abu Issa said, and in the chapter on the authority of Abu Hurairah, Habis Al-Tamimi, Aisha, Ibn Omar, and Saad. And this is a hadith. It is hasan and authentic. We do not know it except from the hadith of Salamah ibn Kuhayl. Shu’bah also narrated this hadith on the authority of Salamah. He said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ismail says that Suleiman ibn Harb used to say in this hadith: “And there is not one of us except him, but God takes him away with trust.” Suleiman said. This, to me, is the saying of Abdullah bin Masoud and none of us.
