Hadith #28039
Humayd bin Masada narrated to us, Khalid bin Al-Harith narrated to us, on the authority of Saeed, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Abu Muslim Al-Jadhimi, on the authority of Al-Jaroud bin Al-Mu’alla, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade drinking while standing. He said, and on the authority of Abu Sa’id, Abu Hurairah, and Anas. Abu Issa said. This is a strange and good hadith. And thus more than one person narrated this hadith, on the authority of Sa`id, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Abu Muslim, on the authority of al-Jaroud, on the authority of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. May God bless him and grant him peace. It was narrated on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn al-Shakhir, on the authority of Abu Muslim, on the authority of al-Jaroud, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The straying of a Muslim is the burning of fire.” Al-Jaroud is the son of Al-Mu’la Al-Abdi, the companion of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He is also called Al-Jaroud bin Al-Ala. The authentic one is Ibn al-Mu’alla
