Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28056

Ahmad bin Muhammad told us, Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, on the authority of Al-Masoudi, on the authority of Al-Walid bin Al-Aizar, on the authority of Abu Amr Al-Shaybani, On the authority of Ibn Masoud, he said: I asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I said, O Messenger of God, which deeds are best? He said: “Prayer.” At its appointed time.” I said, “Then what, O Messenger of God?” He said, “Being kind to parents.” I said, “Then what, O Messenger of God?” He said, “Jihad in “For the sake of God.” Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, remained silent about me, and if I had asked him for more, he would have increased for me. Abu Issa said, “This is a good and authentic hadith.” It was narrated by Al-Shaybani, Shu’bah, and more than one person, on the authority of Al-Walid ibn Al-Aizar, and this hadith was narrated in more than one direction, on the authority of Abu Amr. Al-Shaybani, on the authority of Ibn Masoud. And Abu Amr Al-Shaybani’s name is Saad bin Iyas.
