Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28774

Ibn Abi Umar told us, Abdullah bin Muadh al-San’ani told us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of Asim bin Abi al-Najjoud, on the authority of Abu Wa’il, on the authority of Muadh bin A mountain. He said: I was with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, on a journey, and one day I became close to it while we were walking, so I said, O Messenger of God. Tell me about a deed that will bring me into Paradise and keep me away from Hell. He said, “You have asked me about a great thing, but it is easy for whomever God makes easy.” “On this basis you worship God and do not associate anything with Him, perform prayer, pay zakat, fast Ramadan, and perform Hajj to the House.” Then he said: Shall I not guide you to the gates of goodness? Fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire, and the prayer of a man in the middle of the night.” He said, then recited: (Their sides should avoid their beds) until he reached: (They are doing) Then he said: “Shall I not inform you of the head of “The whole matter, its pillar, and the top of its top.” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of God.” He said, “The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is prayer, and its summit.” “His hump is jihad.” Then he said, “Shall I not inform you of the reason for all of that?” I said, “Yes, O Prophet of God.” Then he took hold of his tongue and said. “ “Stop this for you.” I said, “O Prophet of God, and we will be held accountable for what we speak.” He said, “May your mother be bereaved of you, O Muadh. Do people mourn? In the Fire on their faces or on their noses, except the harvests of their tongues.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
