Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29682

Muhammad bin Hatim Al-Muttab told us, Abu Badr, Shuja’ bin Al-Walid told us, on the authority of Al-Ruhail bin Muawiyah, my brother Zuhair bin Muawiyah, on the authority of Al-Raqashi, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, said that when a matter distressed him, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, would say, “O Ever-Living, O Ever-Living, by Your mercy I seek help.” With its chain of transmission, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Enlighten me with glory and honor.” Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith. This hadith was narrated on the authority of Anas through a different chain of transmission.
