Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #30049

Abbas Al-Anbari told us, he said, Yahya bin Kathir Al-Anbari Abu Ghassan told us, he said, Salam Ibn Ja’far told us, and he was trustworthy, on the authority of Al-Hakam bin Aban, on the authority of Ikrimah, said: It was said to Ibn Abbas after the morning prayer: So-and-so died, belonging to one of the wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. So he prostrated, and it was said to him, “Should you prostrate at this hour?” He said, “Hasn’t the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “If you see a sign, prostrate?” So what sign? Greater than the disappearance of the wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Abu Issa said: This is a good and strange hadith. We do not know it except from this source.
