Hadith #29719
Ahmad bin Al-Hasan told us, Abdullah bin Nafi’ Al-Sayegh told us, reading from him on the authority of Hammad bin Abi Humaid, on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam, on the authority of His father, on the authority of Omar ibn al-Khattab, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent a mission before Najd, and they took much spoils and hastened the return. Then a man from among those who did not go out said, “We have never seen a delegation return faster or have any better spoils than this delegation.” Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “Shall I not guide you?” Over a people who had better spoils and a quicker return, a people who attended the morning prayer and then sat remembering God until it dawned upon them. The sun, for they are the quickest in returning and the best in spoils.” Abu Issa said, “This is a strange hadith. We do not know it except from this source.” Hammad bin Abi Humaid is Abu Ibrahim Al-Ansari Al-Muzani, and he is Muhammad bin Abi Humaid Al-Madani, and he is weak in hadith.
