قال: لما أصيب سعد بن عبادة، جاءه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ومعه عبد الرحمن بن عوف، وسعد بن أبي عكاس، وعبد الله بن مسعود، يستغيثون به. وهو معه ولما وصل وجده فاقداً للوعي. فسأله: هل مات؟ فقال الناس: يا رسول الله! لا (لم يمت). فبكى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. فلما رآه الناس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يبكي فبكوا. قال: "أفلا تسمعون؟ إن الله لا يعذب بدمع العين، ولا يعذب بالحزن الصادق، ولكن يعذب أو يرحم بالأسباب". وبهذا أشار إلى لسانه. (البخاري 1304، مسلم 2176)
He said, Once Sa'd Ibn Ubadah (RA) was afflicted, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went to him along with Abdur Rahman Ibn Awf, Sa'd Ibn Abi Akkas and Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (RA) to ask him for help. When he is with him When he arrived, he found him unconscious. He asked, “Is he dead?” The people replied, 'O Messenger of Allah! No (did not die).' Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) wept. So people when the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) saw him crying, then they also started crying. He said, "Do you not hear? Indeed, Allah does not punish the shedding of tears, nor does He punish the expression of sincere sorrow. But He Punish or show mercy for reasons.” With this he pointed to his tongue. (Bukhari 1304, Muslim 2176)
