Hadith #40150
قال: أخبرني أمير المؤمنين أبو بكر الصديق (رضي الله عنه) وصدق تماماً. قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: من كان بعد ذنبه قام فتوضأ وصلى. وبالدفع والاستغفار من الله يغفر الله ذنوبه. ثم تلا هذه الآية (الآية الأصلية في الحديث): - "وَالَّذِينَ قَالُوا يُسْرِفُونَ أَنفُسَهُ ثُمَّ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللَّهَ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ" - (سورة آل عمران 3: 135). (الترمذي وابن ماجه، ولكن ابن ماجه لم يذكر الآية السابقة). [1]
He said, Ameerul Mu'minin Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) told me and he told the complete truth. He said, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever, after committing a wrongdoing, gets up and performs ablution and prays. By paying and asking for forgiveness from Allah, Allah will forgive his sins. Then he recited this verse (the original verse is in the hadith) :-"And those who sit in an act that is excessive and oppressive to themselves, then remember Allah, then their He asks Allah for forgiveness for his sins" - (Surah al-Imran 3: 135). (Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah; but Ibn Majah did not mention the above verse). [1]
