Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45114

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said We do that. Then Zaid bin Haritha said: O Messenger of God, you gave me land from which I used to make a living, then I took it. I thought you would return it to me, so say. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Shall we do it?” Fatima said, “O Messenger of God, if you thought you would order for me as I ordered your uncle to do it, and the Messenger of God said, “We will do that.” He said, “I will, O Messenger of God, if you see fit to assign this to me.” The truth that God has placed for us in His Book of these five, so divide it up during your lifetime so that no one will dispute it with you after you. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said We will do that, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commissioned him, so I divided it during his lifetime. Then Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, so I apportioned it during his lifetime, then his son Omar, may God be pleased with him, so I apportioned it during his lifetime until it was the last year of Omar’s years.
