Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46352

On the authority of Abdullah bin Abi Awfa, may God be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on some of his days when he met the enemy, waited until the sun had set, then he rose among the people and said: “O people, do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask God for well-being. If you meet him, be patient, and know that Paradise is under the shade of swords.” Then he said: “O God, the sender of the Book and the conductor of the clouds, the defeater of the parties, defeat them and give us victory.” "On them."
